Anna in the Tropics

October 12th – 29th
A poignant and poetic play set in Florida in 1929 in a Cuban–American cigar factory, where cigars are still rolled by hand and “lectors” are employed to educate and entertain the workers. The arrival of a new lector is a cause for celebration, but when he begins to read aloud from Anna Karenina, he unwittingly becomes a catalyst in the lives of his avid listeners, for whom Tolstoy, the tropics and the American dream prove a volatile combination. Rating: PG-13

A Local Preliminary for Miss Florida and Miss America Come be a part of Miss Manatee County 2017, Miss Manatee River 2017, and Miss Manatee County Outstanding Teen 2017 Witness exceptional young women compete through interviews, a talent portion, formal wear , swimsuit (Miss), and fitness (Teen). Divine Inspirations: Sarasota Musica Viva

Sarasota Musica Viva presents “Divine Inspiration”, a program of flute and harp repertoire. This refreshing program includes a variety of styles of music with interactive program notes by the musicians.

The Nutcracker

December 2nd at 4 PM
Under the artistic direction of Darya Fedotova and Sergiy Mykhaylov, The School of Russian Ballet will present the beautiful traditional Christmas ballet “The Nutcracker”. Original choreography is by Professor Vadim Fedotov and is set to the music of Pyotor Tchaikovsky. The School of Russian Ballet dancers will be joined on stage by international world-famous dancers.
This spectacular performance is a wonderful holiday tradition to share with your family, friends, and children of all ages.
