Student Ambassador Program

Select the image above for more info!

This is a program for high school students with an interest in working in and around the performing arts with an emphasis on writing and social media promotion. Each student selected would meet certain criteria to qualify. Once selected the ambassador will attend performances, events and workshops to experience and expand their interest in the performing arts. The student would then share their thoughts and impressions about these experiences on select social media platforms.

As Student Ambassadors, students receive complimentary tickets to attend performances and events at the Manatee Performing Arts Center. In addition to seats for the show, ambassadors will experience behind the scene tours and introduction to actors, crew and staff. Ambassadors are given the chance to see Broadway-style productions along with our smaller studio productions and visiting concert artists.

After each event attended, the student would then share their points of view and personal reviews of the event on social media sites. These sites would include Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.

Ambassadors will be given a unique look into the business of the performing arts. Students will also receive community service hours as part of their participation. The Manatee Performing Arts Center Student Ambassador Program enables learning about the performing arts through discovery, interaction, creativity and involvement. Considerable research on youth in our country and the process of becoming engaged adults tells us that youth participation is a vital component that supports positive youth development. This program offers distinctive artistic opportunities for those interested in the arts, or fields related to the arts. The Student Ambassador program provides a means for young people to become involved in local community organizations, blending civic engagement and leadership development for high school students.

The following criteria must be met to be approved for the Student Ambassador Program.
