October 2 – 4, 2026
The 2026 One-Act Play Festival will be the sixth produced by Theatre Odyssey. For each festival, plays are submitted by authors from throughout the United States and then scored by readers engaged by Theatre Odyssey because of their proven ability to discern good work. The produced plays are new, original, and have not been produced in the state of Florida. Only 100 plays are considered, and the four top scoring plays are then performed by the company and a Best Play is selected. Three theater professionals, different from those who scored the plays, then choose the best of the four, which is announced following the final performance–the Sunday, October 4th Matinee. All four plays will be presented at each evening and at the matinee performance. The author of the Best Play receives $1,000.

The Motley Crew and their plethora of traditional and eclectic instruments will take you back to the time of clashing tankards, and drunken debauchery. Sing and dance along like a drunken sailor as the band perform centuries old folk and shanty songs. Lee Terbosic is a nationally touring magician, comedian, actor, daredevil and entertainer from Pittsburgh who continues to prove that ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE. He has performed before thousands of audiences and wowed some of Hollywood’s biggest stars like Aaron Paul, Jack Black, Wiz Khalifa, Howard Stern and Michael J. Fox. Along with performing stateside and abroad, Lee is currently featured in the History Channel’s History’s Greatest Mysteries: Houdini’s Lost Diaries and is the featured magician recreating illusions for Discovery Channel’s Houdini’s Last Secrets. When not on tour, Lee can be seen performing his acclaimed show, The Life and Death of Harry Houdini, to sold out audiences at the Liberty Magic Theater, along with his signature 52 Up Close production at Hotel Monaco in Pittsburgh.

A Broadway Senior adaptation of the Tony-winning musical comedy, The Drowsy Chaperone SR. is a loving satire of the Golden Age musical, featuring hysterical numbers and colorful characters. Put on by our very own DraMature actors; A man shares with the audience his favorite record – the 1928 musical The Drowsy Chaperone. As he plays the record, the show comes to life in his apartment. Mix in two lovebirds on the eve of their wedding, a bumbling best man, a desperate theatre producer, a not-so-bright hostess, gangsters posing as pastry chefs, a misguided Don Juan and a sleepy chaperone, and you have the ingredients for a show that will have everyone laughing.
